I don't know much about the difference now but I do have a PC and my MacBook Pro that runs XP through Fusion.

There was a difference for me, mutliple restarts on the PC's, viruses, multiple crashing in a day, the Macs then were way more stable.

I have been an exclusive Mac designer for 11 years, mostly because the majority of environmental graphic designers use Macs. I started on PC, ended up with Macs on the last 4 jobs. I am not going to be doing them, but will need the computing power and programs to tweak drawings in case I need to adjust things instead of going back and forth with a freelancer. I'm also toying around with 3d presentations. Since most of my presentations start out as drawings, it make more sense to directly draw in the computer. I am saving for a MacPro so I can hook up 2-30" displays and a Cintiq 21X tablet. My PC is a Dell, runs great but I think it's because it's not online at all.

I have a G5 tower that is my server and I do a second back up to an external drive weekly and keep it out of the house. I run XP through Fusion and that takes care of my Corel and AutoCad. I currently design on a 17" MacBook Pro using an external keyboard and mouse, and I have a 30" Cinema Display hooked up to it. Glare may not be a problem with you, but it's usually a problem with me so I would not get one unless I hooked up a 30" Cinema Display to it. I like the new 27" IMac, but I can't stand the glare that the Imacs have but I like the rich colors.
